WEB Clioquinol, a combination drug used to treat skin infections and eczema, has been linked to rare but serious neurological side effects, including a potentially fatal condition called subacute myelo-optic neuropathy (SMON), which can cause paralysis and blindness. As a result, the drug is no longer recommended for use.
