Canucks, Oilers to meet in playoffs
Battle-hardened Oilers face upstart Canucks
Seven-game series to begin Wednesday
The Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers will meet in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the third time and first since 1992 when they play in the second round.
The Oilers are a battle-hardened playoff team, having reached the Western Conference Finals in each of the past two seasons. The Canucks, on the other hand, are making their first playoff appearance since 2015.
The Oilers won the season series against the Canucks, going 3-1-0. However, the Canucks won the most recent meeting between the two teams, a 3-2 overtime victory in Vancouver on March 29.
The series is expected to be a close one. The Oilers have the experience advantage, but the Canucks have the home-ice advantage and are playing with a lot of confidence after upsetting the St. Louis Blues in the first round.
The series will begin in Vancouver on Wednesday night.
