Amazon Expands Fulfillment Center Network in Spain
New Delivery Center Brings Jobs and Capacity
Expansion Driven by Growing Demand in Spain
Amazon is expanding its fulfillment center network in Spain with a new facility in San Fernando de Henares, Madrid. The new delivery center, which has an approximate footprint of more than 15,000 square meters, will create around 80 direct jobs.
The expansion is in response to growing customer demand in Spain. Amazon has seen a surge in orders in the country in recent years, thanks to the popularity of its Prime membership program, which offers free and fast delivery on many items.
"We are excited to be further expanding our fulfillment center network in Spain," said Francois Saugier, Director of Amazon Logistics in Europe. "The new delivery center will help us to meet the growing demand for our services from customers in Spain and beyond."
The new fulfillment center will be the third in Spain, joining existing facilities in Barcelona and Madrid. Amazon also has a number of other logistics facilities in the country, including sorting centers and delivery stations.
