UCLA Bruins Men's Basketball: A History of Dominance

11 NCAA Championships and Counting...

The UCLA Bruins men's basketball team is one of the most successful programs in NCAA history, with 11 national championships to their name. The Bruins have also won 13 Pac-12 Conference regular season titles and 12 Pac-12 Conference tournament championships.

The John Wooden Era

The Bruins' success is largely due to the legendary coach John Wooden, who led the team to 10 national championships in a 12-year span from 1964 to 1975. Wooden's teams were known for their innovative offense, which featured a high-low post game and a variety of cutting and screening actions.

Some of the greatest players in UCLA history played under Wooden, including Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), Bill Walton, and Gail Goodrich.

Recent Success

In recent years, the Bruins have continued to be a force in college basketball. The team has reached the Final Four three times in the past decade, and they won the national championship in 2014.
