Rodri's Late Goal Rescues Point for Manchester City Against Chelsea

Sterling Puts Chelsea Ahead

Rodri's Last-Gasp Equalizer Secures Draw

Manchester City and Chelsea played out a thrilling 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, with Rodri scoring a dramatic late goal to cancel out Raheem Sterling's opener.

Sterling, making his first appearance against his former club, fired Chelsea ahead in the 44th minute with a clinical finish. The hosts looked set to hold on for the three points until Rodri pounced on a loose ball in the penalty area and fired home in the 89th minute.

The result leaves Manchester City three points clear at the top of the Premier League table, while Chelsea remains eighth. It was a frustrating night for the Blues, who had several chances to kill the game off but were denied by some excellent saves from Ederson.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was pleased with his team's fighting spirit and praised Rodri for his decisive contribution.

"We showed great character to come back from behind," Guardiola said. "Rodri's goal was fantastic. He's a top-class player and he's always there when we need him."

Chelsea manager Graham Potter was disappointed with the result but acknowledged that Manchester City is a formidable opponent.

"We played well for large parts of the game and we had some good chances to win it," Potter said. "But Manchester City is a great team and they always find a way to come back."
