German Police Arrest AfD Aide Over China Spying Allegations

Maximilian Krah, AfD's Top Candidate, Expresses Surprise over Arrest
German police have arrested Jian G., an aide to a top European lawmaker working for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, on accusations of spying for China.
The staffer was identified by the website of Maximilian Krah, the AfD's top candidate in the recent European Parliament elections. Jian Guo, listed as one of Krah's assistants, resided in Brussels and the eastern part of Germany.
Maximilian Krah released a statement expressing his surprise over the arrest of his employee, Jian. "I found out about the arrest of my employee, Jian, through the press this morning," Krah said. He added that he had learned of Guo's arrest from the media.
The website of Maximilian Krah, the AfD's top candidate in the June European parliamentary elections, lists Jian Guo as one of his assistants. Krah emphasized that he had learned of Guo's arrest from the media.
